INTERVENTIONAL PROCEDURAL TESTING & TREATMENT

SPINAL JOINT INJECTION

• Facet joint dysfunction of the spine makes one of the most common pain conditions of the neck and back and the most common cause of persistent axial pain seen in motor vehicle collisions (MVC).

• MRI cannot make or exclude diagnosis. Physical exam cannot make or exclude diagnosis.

• Targeted fluoroscopically guided diagnostic injections is the only proven method used to isolate and diagnose the source of pain.

• These neural blockade injections are considered the "gold standard test" for many pain conditions.

• Proper diagnosis is essential to efficient and effective treatment.

DIAGNOSTIC & THERAPEUTIC  PROCEDURES

• If pain does not improve with first line treatments, then protocols must be advanced.
• Diagnosis is the key to effective and cost-efficient treatment.
• Steroid medication is often given along with the diagnostic medication to try to eliminate the pain.

OTHER JOINT INJECTIONS

• Injections of other joints in the body such as shoulders knees hips and wrist our commonly performed.

• Steroid medication (Cortisone) is typically

utilized initially. Regenerative medicine using

• Platelet Rich Plasma can be done as a more durable therapeutic procedure

EPIDURAL INJECTIONS

• Epidural injections are one of the commonly used interventions in managing chronic pain.

• ESIs have been used for decades for the treatment of radicular & discogenic symptomatic conditions that are resistant to conventional medical treatment.

• There is ample evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of ESIs in reducing and eliminating pain, improving function, decreasing reliance on opioids, and eliminating the need for surgery for many patients

NERVE BLOCK INJECTIONS

• Nerve blocks, both spinal and non-spinal are used for diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURAL TREATMENTS

RADIOFREQUENCY DENERVATION

• Thermal Radiofrequency denervation (or ablation) a common & standard therapeutic interventional pain management procedure.

• Radiofrequency (RF) is a safe, internationally accepted low-invasive method of pain management treatment which has proven to be effective in reducing chronic spinal pain in randomized and blinded studies including patients after motor vehicle injuries.

• RF  has been utilized as an effective medical treatment for over three decades.

REGENERATIVE MEDICINE

• Regenerative medicine is the branch of medicine that develops methods to regrow, repair, or replace damaged or diseased cells, organs, or tissues.

• Instead of destroying tissue (as in RF), RIT works by inducing the body to “heal” or “regenerate”.

• The decisive goal of regenerative medicine is indeed to advance care from palliation to cure.

• RIT works by inducing the repair of ligaments and other structures by launching a healing cascade. this leads to deposition of new, better-organized collagen/cartilage and restoration of ligament / tendon / joint health and function. Treating musculoskeletal pain with 'RIT' stimulates the body to heal itself. regenerative injection treatments (RIT are used for joint, tendon, ligament, muscle and spinal pain. Regenerative medicine replaces or regenerates human cells or tissue to restore or establish normal function.

• Actual healing of damaged tissue.

• increase stabilization & decreased laxity/Instability of spinal vertebral segments
